Mistress Zaneta Gavlinne Angiolieri - Projects

This scroll is my first Terpsichore, and was presented to Mark of
Concordia at the Eastern Crown Tournament by King Andreas III
and Queen Gabriella on November 3rd, 2007.

I wanted to represent a dance scene, and found an image of a
Woodcut by P. Wohlgemuth from the Liber Chronicorum Mundi
folio (Nuremburg; 1493). The piece is actually representing a 15th
Century Legend of dancers on Christmas Night who were punished
for the impiety and condemned to dance for a whole year. Although
a rather somber thought, I thought it was a great display of dance,
and so brightened up the scene with brightly colored clothing.

The font is a modified gothic textura font, a new style for me that
I'm still getting used to.
